Jon Foster, Boneshaker wallpaper

Jon Foster, Boenshaker wallpaper

Jon Foster’s Boneshaker wallpaper in two great flavors: goggle-ishous plain and Cherie Priest deluxe. Between Jon’s illustration and Jamie Stafford-Hill’s type design, this is one of my favorite covers this year.

Enjoy the wallpaper.

Jon Foster, Boenshaker sketches

The first sketch was a real contender. It had action and might have more commercial appeal than the others. The second sketch looked a little too young-adult so that was ruled out fairly quickly. (Although it would make for a great YA cover.) The third one seemed slightly riskier than the others but also felt like, if all the pieces fell into place, it would demand attention on the shelves. It took a little convincing but I’m glad it’s the direction we took.

Just started reading this book. if you have not purchased it yet, go out and get it. I am only on chapter 6, but am enjoying every word of it.

Wow, I really love the other sketches, too. I think I dig 2 slightly more than 1. Does that mean I’m a YA in a 30 year-old body?

Reading this right now, and I love it! Thanks for posting this Irene. I love seeing jacket comparisons.

Irene, amazing wallpapers, but sadly there’s nothing in the 1:1.25 ratio (1280×1024), whereas there are multiple sizes for 1:1.33 (800×600, 1024×768, 1600×1200 etc.) Since the bigger ones can easily be resized to the smaller sizes without messing up the aspect ratio, it makes the smaller ones redundant IMO.

Instead can we please have these as well as the ones by Eric Freitas and Thom Tenery (and any future ones, of course) in a large size that conforms to the 1:1.25 ratio? Thanks a lot! :)

I like the one chosen for the cover, but I’d love to see the first two sketches finished, also.

I love the free wallpapers. Not only ’cause they’re free (yay!), but also because they’re beautiful. Unfortunately, none of these sizes fit my 13″ MacBook. There used to be size 1280-800 (at least in summer 2008) which fit best of all. Why no more?

The closest fit (as far as seeing the whole picture goes) is the 1024×768, except for the sides which have extra “frames”.

I guess I’ll have to try to see what I can do about resizing. *nervous swallow*

I downloaded several of these wallpapers which i find really gorgeous but I only have the top half of the image and not the bottom, (hence why I tried different formats) is that normal? or do I miss something there?
Thanks.
